How to actually stick to your goals this year

Are you a New Year’s resolution setter?

Do you notice yourself setting the same resolutions every year? Then January rolls around, and you’re ready to try again … but then it doesn’t stick.

Here’s what I’ve noticed … Resolutions often focus on big picture outcomes we can’t always control. They can feel heavy, rigid, and almost like a setup for “failure” if we don’t hit the exact mark.

What if we shift to “intentions” instead?

Intentions focus on who you want to BE and the aligned actions that flow naturally with that. They’re not attached to “did I do it, or didn’t I?” but instead, to the energy you’re bringing to your life every day.

So instead of:
❌ “I’ll lose 50 lbs by March”

Try this:
🤍 “I will go to the gym 4x a week.”
🤍 “I will get my heart rate up and sweat 4x a week.”
🤍 “I will drink more water than ever before.”

And when those intentions start to feel tricky to follow … Pause. Breathe. Soften. Have some water. And begin looking at root causes underneath your “not going to the gym”, “not eating as healthy as you’d wanted” …

Maybe it’s deeper than that. 🙏🏼 That’s where things really shift …. And you don’t have to figure it out alone.

So tell me … Does intentions vs. resolutions feel different to you? Less pressure? More possibility? Let’s talk about it.

If this resonates, save this for a reminder on how to stay aligned with your goals this year 🤍
